Hanato Atelier - A place in Haarlem to create, gather, and reflect
The art of mindful creation, honoring tradition and embracing the moment.

Hanato Atelier is a space for thoughtful making — where hands move with care, cultural traditions are honored, and creativity becomes a shared ritual.
We invite artists from diverse backgrounds to lead seasonal workshops, offering not only technique but moments of stillness, discovery, and connection.

Rooted in traditional arts yet open to contemporary approaches, we explore practices such as Sumi-e (Japanese ink painting), Watoji (Japanese book binding) and Ikebana (Japanese flower arrangement) At the heart of it all is the hand — shaping, sensing, remembering.

Our workshops take place in a welcoming studio inside Het Badhuis in Haarlem, where nature, community, and creativity meet.
